It’s that time of the year when Eidul Adha (The Muslim second holiday) comes around with so many people affected by the droughts, floods and war in east Africa look forward to benefit from the contributions of so many generous donors in United States and other European countries. HARO has being continuously delivering much needed aid to so many families in varies refugee camps. Again This year, HARO organized the udhiya program in Banadir region due to the large number of refugee camps that are present in this populated city of Mogadishu. Most of the residents in these camps are largely families who fled from other regions of Somalia, seeking any humanitarian aid.
There are so many camps and centers that serve for the refugees but HARO distributed the udhiya in camps such as Beedle, Asharaaf, Alla Aamin, Abaaleey and the camp for the vision impaired individuals. You could imagine with so many people and families who are struggling to survive, it could be very difficult to maintain order but we have very qualified supervisors on the ground, the heads of this team are Abduqadir Abdirahman Khaliif , Bakar Haji Omar and Abdullahi Sheekh Aadan Abdulle. They organize volunteers while giving out large amounts of camel, cattle and goat meat to more than 1500 families.
After all the families got as much meat as they can carry, they all thank their brothers and sisters who remembered them and donated this blessed holiday. They asked God to give them something better in return. In addition, the refugees urged organizations like HARO to continue their effort in bringing much needed aid and support to so many people who are suffering from lack of food and shelter.
