HARO concluded the Udhiya/Qurbani Project

The HARO organization has concluded the Udhiya project in many cities in Somalia such as Mogadishu, Gaalkayo and Baydhabo. The HARO office in Mogadishu distributed the udhiya meat to the internally displaced people in several camps who needed it the most.

At the same time, the organization gave away large number of goat meat in Baydhabo which is located the Bay region of Somalia. The people who benefited from this aid consisted of internally displaced people and poor people who lived in the area, some of them reported that they haven’t eat any meat for long time and are very grateful to the generous donors who remembered them this difficult times.

On the other side, the city of Gaalkayo, in Mudug region, where the HARO officers distributed largely amount of goat meat to very needy indigent people in the area. The operation was being supervised by HARO officers and they have told us that the aid wasn’t enough for the people they originally planned to give the aid since a lot more people came to get something to eat. They have stressed the great need for extra aid in the area.

Lastly, The HARO workers reminded the people where the aid originally came from which is the generous donors living North America and that HARO is only distributing the udhiya on their behalf. Everyone who has received the udhiya aid was very grateful to their brothers and Sisters.
