Ali Haji Abdinur

President/CEO

Ali Abdinur has more than twenty years of nonprofit organization management experience. He first started working with Somali Community of San Diego in 1992 as one of the Board of the Directors. He started new campaigns for the organization to further the purpose of serving the community. He later became part of Amana Foundation and held the position of Executive Director. He worked rigorously to accomplish the mission and vision of Amana Foundation until 2004 when he started his own business in the import/export industry. Because he was disturbed by the condition of his fellow countrymen in particular the children and women of Somalia that he then decided to start HARO (Humanitarian African Relief Organization) in 2007.

HARO is US based non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing humanitarian relief and development throughout horn of Africa. Since the inception of HARO, Ali Abdinur has helped raise thousands of dollars in order to accomplish the mission of HARO which is to empower the needy and the indigent to make informed and healthy choices to counter the social and economic problems endemic in parts of Somalia and East Africa, by presenting helpful awareness, effective education, and assistance in the form of food, shelter, and medicine.


Bashir M. Hassan

Board Chairman

Bashir Hassan has worked in the medical field for the last fifteen years in different capacity. Bashir earned undergraduate degree in Public Health at San Diego State University, California, and Masters degree in Healthcare Administration from Capella University at Minnesota and has completed AS degree in Cardiovascular Technology at Grossmont College, Elcajon City, California.

Bashir currently is an administrator of small, privately owned Home Healthcare Company in Saint Paul Minnesota. Besides his professional job, he works tirelessly in the field of community services and helped many non- profit, community-based organizations, including Humanitarian, educational and health care services. Such as Humanitarian African Relief Organization (HARO). Bashir is co-founder of HARO, and since its inception in 2007, He works with this grassroots organization that supporter vulnerable populations in east Africa communities. Bashir is passionate person, who likes to support others in any capacity. He wishes and strives to see people and organizations grow and make positive impacts on people’s lives.


Fosi Dahir Hassan

Board Treasury

Fosi Hassan has worked in the Educational field for the last ten years. Fosi earned undergraduate degree in Business Administration with minor Economic at Metro State University St. Paul Minnesota, and Master degree in Education, School Counseling, from University of Wisconsin River Fall. Fosi currently is School Counselor at Twin Cities International Middle School Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Besides his professional job, he works tirelessly in the field of community services and helped many non-profit, community-based organizations, including Humanitarian, educational, Such as Humanitarian African Relief Organization (HARO). Fosi is Board member of HARO, since 2008, He works with this grassroots organization that supporter vulnerable populations in east Africa communities. Fosi is passionate person, who likes to support others in any capacity. He wishes and strives to see people and organizations grow and make positive impacts on people’s lives.


Yusuf Abdulle Abdulle

Director of Development and Operations

Former Imam of Boston Islamic Center for 9 years. Currently director of development and operations at humanitarian African Relief Organization (HARO). Graduated from university of Massachusetts in Boston with Bachelors of operations Management degree. Speaks fluently Arabic, English, and Somali. Lives in Saint Minnesota, United Stated of America.


Ahmed Jama

Board Secretary

Has bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from Ohio University. Jama was project manager for Bright Horizon Academy LLC.

Samiya Hassan Ahmed

Board Member

Has bachelor’s degree in health care management from the university of Minnesota. In 2017 Samiya earned a bachelor's degree in Islamic studies from Indiana University. She works at Ubah Medical Academy in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She lives and works in Minneapolis, Minnesota United States of America.
